Giving new meaning to “Madam” Governor

The New York Governor’s race just got crowded.  Paterson, probably Cuomo, Lazio, Paladino, now enter Kristin Davis.  The Manhattan madam who had Eliot Spitzer as a client is running for Governor with a little help from political hack  Roger Stone.  Remember Roger Stone? No?  Follow that link for a reminder.

Anyway via TPM.

Notorious Republican political operative Roger Stone is getting involved in the New York gubernatorial race. But he’s got nothing good to say about the Republican frontrunner in the race. No, Stone told me today, in one of the state’s darkest hours New Yorkers should turn to the woman Eliot Spitzer called when he was feeling down — convicted madam Kristin Davis.

He assured me Davis was serious, and that she genuienly hopes to shake up the race with her focus on legalizing pot and the sex trade. She’s reached out to the state’s Libertarian Party, but if they won’t have her, Stone said she’s preparted to start her own “Personal Freedom” party. Thanks to New York’s byzantine elections rules, that will require her to collect around 45,000 signatures from across the state by late June, a tall order for any politician.

Which leads us to Kristin Davis’ blog

Last Saturday I gave the first political speech of my life. I spoke to the Manhattan Libertarian party and told them I planning a campaign for Governor of New York State. I have not decided whether to seek the Libertarian party nomination or form my own party based on my platform; legalization, regulation and taxation of prostitution, marijuana, and legalizing gay marriage.
When was the last time a candidate put forward this kind of honest, radical platform? When is the last time a politician offered the voters something different than higher taxes, more spending, greater debt and service cuts.

I have written extensively on my support for these three proposals on this website long before I thought about running for public office. I have a business background, ran a hedge fund for ten years and built a multi-million dollar business from scratch. Unlike any of the other candidates for governor I have created jobs and made a payroll. I am certainly more qualified than the losers and hacks we have in Albany now!

Oh, the fun in November!
