Kicking off the day

A few interesting stories from around the web.

Funding the Opposition: (via Americablog) Remember all those calls and emails from the DNC and OFA sent urging contributions to the DNC to fight for real health care reform?  Well, apparently their definition includes actions by Sen Ben Nelson.  Yep, a large DNC donation was made to Ben Nelson to run campaign ads last month. .  Oh, the DNC defended its actions.

Who exactly is the boss?:  (Via Wham13) Lovely Warren works for Assemblyman David Gantt.  David Gantt is a supporter of Mayoral Control of the Rochester City Schools.  Lovely Warren is the President of City Council.  Conflict of interest?

Cutting the bone?  (Via City News) Why are we cutting Department of Environmental Conservation 54 more slots on top of the 450 slots cut over the past 2 years?  Sorta makes environmental enforcement difficult doesn’t it.

Somethings don’t change:  (Via Wham13) The embarrassed but not charged GOP fundraiser Irene Matichyn whose name appears all over the ROBUTRAD indictment still collects a commission on monies she raised for the GOP.  She has been collecting since the local GOP severed ties with her.  Hum -

Strange Bedfellows:  (via TAP) Guess who is a fan of  Senate candidate Harold Ford?  Well, none other than Karl Rove.

Self Promotion:  (Via Raw Story) SarahPAC - yeah Sarah Palin’ PAC bought $63K worth of her book.  Probably for Christmas presents.
