Rep Massa crushing Reed in Fundraising
Per this article in the D&C Massa is holds a 5-1 fundraising advantage as of Dec 31 2009. The question - is that going to be enough as the November election looms closer each day.
WASHINGTON — Freshman Democratic Rep. Eric Massa had a 5-to-1 lead over Republican challenger Tom Reed in campaign cash as of Dec. 31, according to reports filed over the weekend with the Federal Election Commission.
Massa, a former Naval officer from Corning, had $643,973 in cash on hand, compared with $122,565 for Reed, a lawyer who serves as the mayor of Corning.
I’m sure somewhere, someone in the Massa campaign is saying it isn’t enough and I agree but I would be remiss if I didn’t say that I didn’t like Massa’s sizable lead. Reed’s fundraising will kick in this year and Massa needs to add to his war chest.
Here is Rep Massa’s FEC summary.
Here is Mayor Reed’s FEC Summary.
You can read Reps Maffei and Lee and Slaughter summaries if you like as well. I’m not sure there are identified candidates for any of those races. Primary or otherwise.
