Thank God we have the best health care in the world. If you nay-sayers don’t believe it, just listen to what Rush said when he came out of the hospital. File this one under “too ironic for words.” Rush urges everybody to seek medical care immediately if they experience chest pains, and also says we have the best health care system in the world and “there’s not a single thing wrong with it.” At least that’s the case for Rush and those who can receive care when they need it. For Amercians who don’t have coverage or are denied care, well… gee, it’s ironic, isn’t it.
Oh, and a further irony. Limbaugh’s excellent care was provided in Hawaii, a state noted for its progressive approach to health care.
Since 1974, Hawaii has required employers to offer relatively generous health care benefits to their workers. Rather than drive up the cost of health care, it’s had the exact opposite effect. Health insurance premiums in Hawaii are among the cheapest in the U.S. — astounding considering that island consumers tend to pay more for everything else, from groceries to gasoline, than their mainland counterparts.
A day, a day, a day… yada, yada yada. Here’s to Palindrome Day, also known as Sarah Palin’s Day. January 2nd was dubbed Palindrome Day, because the date (01012010) is the same backwards or forwards. Seemed like a good opportunity to tie the former governor’s name to something. The Sarah-lovers at Conservatives4 Palin.com wished their readers “Happy Palindrome Day” with a collection of links to flattering articles about Sarah. And then there was this guy:
By the way, if you go to Conservatives4Palin.com, they’ve got a great item this week. A new Hays poll shows that Sarah Palin’s popularity has gone up 8 points since leaving office. Insert your own punchline here: ________________________________ .
Sure, the terrorists want to fly planes into skyscrapers and behead journalists and suicide-bomb us… but the real danger is from radical enemies such as Pelosi and Obama. Minnesota Republican congressional candidate Allen Quist explains that America’s big fight is with “radicals” in Washington:
“Our country is being destroyed. Every generation has had to fight the fight for freedom… Terrorism? Yes. That’s not the big battle,” he said. “The big battle is in D.C. with the radicals. They aren’t liberals. They are radicals. Obama, Pelosi, Walz: They’re not liberals, they’re radicals. They are destroying our country.”
