Sarah Palin @ Borders on Saturday - Rogue or Rouge?
By now you have heard that Sarah Palin is coming Rochester for a book signing. The details are out there if you are interested - use “the google” to find them.
My email box has been filling with notes ranging from organizing a protest or somehow expressing displeasure, to completely ignoring her.
What do you think? Any plans or thoughts you want to share?
Me? I’m on the ignore path - I have a long list of things to do on Saturday and seeing Sarah Palin isn’t high on the list. I do want to add however, that I wish Sarah Palin unfettered success in GOP party circles.
What do you think? Any plans?

Ignore
me and a friend are planning on going with funny protest signs. The more protesters the better.
How special. I can remember when I had no life too, but then I graduated High School.
whtwtrdood
i thought republicans liked protests now.
Anybody remember how she used to be a governor? What happened to that little venture of hers?
I’ll be there too…to witness history, Palin and to do what comes naturally.
Ignore. Like water off a duck’s back.
I almost fear asking this but what exactly are you protesting about her? Is it based on her stance on a certain issue? Or just how “stupid” she is?
Other than the 2nd amendment, she is an anti-ACLU poster child
From About.com:civil liberties:
“Sarah Palin is something of an enigma, as her experience has been strictly executive–as mayor of a small Alaska town, and then (for two years) as governor of the state. My primary sources of information on her civil liberties platform are news reports detailing the 2006 Alaska governor’s race–campaign promises, in other words.
That said, she is conspicuously socially conservative by Alaska standards. Her complete commitment to outlawing abortion (even in cases of health, rape, and incest, where McCain would make exceptions), banning same-sex marriage and state employee domestic partnership benefits for same-sex couples, and promoting the teaching of creationism in public schools mark her as a candidate of the Religious Right, even though her views are not very different from those of McCain in practical terms.
If your main issue of concern is gun rights, then she’s the best of any candidate on either major-party ticket–her A+ NRA rating contrasts with McCain’s C and the F shared by both Obama and Biden. The only presidential primary candidate of either party who scored an A+ NRA rating, it should be noted, was Bill Richardson. Her views on gun rights are a Second Amendment advocate’s dream.
But on most other civil liberties issues, she is discernibly more authoritarian than McCain. We don’t know much about Sarah Palin yet, but one thing we do know is that civil liberties aren’t her strong suit.”
If you want something more, how about her desire to take polar bears off of the endangered species list because “SHE” doesn’t believe that climate change is impacting their population?
Oh, and there’s that little thing about shooting wolves from a plane. Oh, and “drill, baby, drill”
I especially like her anti-choice stance.
Shall I go on, or do you, now, get the picture?
i am protesting her publicity tour using my city and the fact her style and substance coarsens and diminishes the national debate on various issues.
So Ladkiddo is against everything that she stands for and Mike has no clue. Thanks folks. Just curious.
No problem. Anything else with which I can help you?
I saw this cartoon in USA Today:
Sarah Palin is in a book store and outside are several people. Sarah says “I can’t believe so many people took time off from their jobs to come to my first book signing!” One of the people outside says “This is Michigan, Governor.”
Why does RT write about Palin? That’s not ignoring her.
