The Great Fail -

MAYOR DUFFY CRUSHES THE OPPOSITION, Oh, and Sandy Frankel won in Brighton.  Well, that seems to be the only good news tonight if you are a Democrat.  (Ouch - Ladkiddo just poked me to to remind me that that Moe won in Mendon, which is a good thing.)

Well, just got to the Hyatt just in time to listen to the  concession speeches.  Jesus H Christ - it was a blood bath.  Dems were crushed across the board.

Let’s recap the County Legislature races;

Perinton (Bredes), Henrietta (Condello),  Gates (Moscato),  Greece (Meleca-Voigt),  Greece (Coon),  Chili (Weaver), Clarkson (Meyers),  Well, none of these Legislative candidates make a dent.

Supervisor - Mendon and Irondequoit supervisors flipped (Joe Morrelle’s back yard - The Town of Irondequoit - reverts to Republican control).

Still failed to win a County Wide race, so O’Flynn, the Judges and the rest are all still Republicans.

Well, at least Duffy and Frankel won.

I’m tired and going to bed - more, much more on this later, if I am so inclined.

What do you think?

Did I mention that Duffy and Frankel won?  AND, the two Brighton Town Council seats stayed in Democratic hands.

Oh Boy - lots to discuss.  Let’s get it started.

Wow… surprised… VERY surprised the GOP managed to keep their numbers and gain a few here and there… especially in Greece and especially in Penfield (Andy Moore). Just goes to show how stupid voters can be.

      Why blame the voters?

That sounds like the losing team balming the condition of the field after a loss. Some how the winners knew how to adapt.

Perhaps it’s time to do what losing teams with decent players do; perhaps it’s time the democrats start thinking about changing the manager. When the dems can’t crush, much less win in a town like Greece with the scandals and high taxes it may be time to look in the dugout and see who’s got to go.

Although I totally agree with this premise, I do believe that there are some shared responsibilities, like I said to Men_dem above:
“We have a Democratic president. Shouldn’t everything else just fall into place? We worked hard to get him elected. Why should we have to work again this year”
In Greece, especially, the voters have to be totally unaware of the scandals surrounding their re-elected public officials. The question of the night was, what do you have to do, as a Greece Republican, to get voted out of office?
        Homicide comes to mind.

    News from the front!

Looks like NY Times and CNN is reporting Bill Owens as the winner in NY-23.
