Obama speaks in NYC last week. Single Payer?

Has anyone watched this yet?  This is an incredible speech delivered to NYC Organizing for America volunteers on October 20th, 2009.  You can’t help but love this guy.  He’s got the eloquence of John Kennedy and the timing of Jon Stewart.  He really makes you want to believe in him, and I do,  right up until about minute #18 when someone from the crowd yells out, “SINGLE PAYER!”

Watch and listen…

29 million people?

What about the other 20 million?

Maybe we don’t need a mop.  Maybe we need a shovel?

  1. Jean-Luc Picard says:

As they often say on Star Trek:

“It would be fatal to humans, but it’s a start.” We’d cut the number of uninsured people in half; it’s a start.
