Let’s let our officials know where we stand:

Patch the Health Care System Rally-Canandaigua

LOCAL SUPPORTERS OF HEALTH CARE REFORM IN CANANDAIGUA JOIN THE NATIONAL DAY OF ACTION BECAUSE IT IS TIME TO DELIVER REAL HEALTH CARE REFORM

(Canandaigua, NY)—1199SEIU and Organizing for America have organized “The Patch the Health Care System Rally” that will take place on Tuesday, October 20th as part of the national day of action aimed at delivering real health care reform. “It is time for Congress to deliver real health care reform,” says Jack Kashinsky, a participant in the rally. The rally will echo events across the country.

The Senate Finance Committee passed a health care bill that is a beneficial to insurance companies and does very little to make health care more affordable. As the bill is reconciled, the people call for the strongest possible bill to emerge… one that will put people before profits.

Congressman Eric Massa has stated that he has not heard enough from constituents in his district that support health care reform. This group aims to remedy that by asking residents to fill out cut out pumpkins for delivery to Congressman Massa prior to Halloween. Although Massa claims that he will not have an impact on the outcome of health care, his voice and vote will be needed to move health care reform in the right direction.
