LD-9 in Penfield Another open seat?
So who is running? I suppose it isn’t an open seat unless two parties are actually contesting it.
We know that County Legislator (LD-9) Anthony LaFountain will resign to focus on his race to be Penfield Supervisor. As seems to be standard practice on both sides a replacement will be appointed in this case Penfield Town Councilwoman Debbie Drawe.
So who are the Democrats running for the LD-9 seat? Anyone?
The MCDC site doesn’t seem to show a candidate. Was LD-9 up for election this cycle as the article says? If so, the seat wasn’t on the annnounced list of candidates a while back.
Can’t win of you don’t run.

One more thing - Re the MCDC web site - It would be nice if the candidate info would be posted next to the candidate. A website, contact info, heck a picture. Some candidates have all of that that some don’t and it looks a bit disorganized. Same for the town candidates.

This seat was not on the ballot this year, but because Lafountain resigned before Sept 20, it will now be on the ballot. If he had waited until after Sept 20 to step down, the seat wouldn’t have been up until next year.
