Breaking: same-sex marriage bill passes in the NYS Assembly
The New York State Assembly passed the same-sex marriage bill this evening:
ALBANY — The State Assembly approved legislation on Tuesday night that would make New York the sixth state to allow same-sex marriage — a pivotal vote that shifts the debate to the State Senate, where gay rights advocates and conservative groups alike are redoubling their efforts.
Ok, Malcolm, it’s up to you now!

Woo Hoo!
Give your state senator a call and let them know your opinion. Let’s get this thing done!
Malcolm can’t do it alone. But, we can do it together.
I spoke with Todd Plank the local Empire State Pride Agenda organizer today.
He says more than anything, they need people to call and write letters to their senators expressing support for equal marriage rights. Remember this isn’t about ‘gay rights”, gays won’t get anything special. It’s about equal rights for all New Yorkers.
If you don’t know who your senator is you can check the board of elelctions web site, http://www.monroecounty.gov/elections-index.php

Ten minutes and two stamps, less time and money than going out to buy a lottery ticket. And…we’ll all be winners!

remember that the fundamental difference here between “Civil Unions” and “Marriage” is that marriage is portable. It does’t end at some state line like Civil Unions do.
Finally
