In Case You Missed it…

Welcome to this week’s edition of  In Case you Missed It - Let’s look at the week that was as posted on RochesterTurning.

Time Warner Internet Caps

By now you know the Tine Warner Caps are “dead” which probably means “postponed” but let’s look at what we wrote leading up to this good news.   We delivered this remarkable footage of Congressman Eric Massa forcefully speaking out against the Time Warner Internet Caps.  As a side note  - one of the things we do well at RT is get out from behind the computer or “google alert” to bring you coverage of events.  This particular video made a couple of national level blogs - always a good thing from our perspective but Massa puts the issue into perspective.

Anyway there was a rally scheduled for Saturday -  30 folks showed up I’m sure more would have come had Time Warner not pulled their plan.  Last week we brought you footage of Congressman Dan Maffei’s stance and this week - we asked the important  question (I think we were the only ones to do so) where do our other Members of Congress stand on the issue?  Town Supervisors got called and asked where they stood.  Congressman Chris Lee’s stance became clear.

Finally, after Time Warner’s plan was shelved and given all the Time Warner hoopla -we asked does money buy influence?

County Reorganization

We are still waiting for the other shoes (or heels) to drop.  Maggie’s number two, James Smith,  is gone.  I got a phone call alerting me to pending county-level reorganization - I confirm it with others including some media folks.  They have been hearing the same thing but no one will go on the record yet.  So Friday comes and goes but nothing - well, we believe it is coming and will be announced at a point when and where our County Leadership can minimize damage.
