Hey Upstate Anti-Gun Control People– Control Your Guns, People!
Sad stuff. Unless your address is “123 UnderRock St.”, you’ve heard about the tragic slaying of 13 people in Binghamton yesterday by a rogue gunman.
And this morning another gun crime headline comes to us from the D&C:
Greece Police: 1 dead after man confronts group he believed were intruders
…
Earlier in the morning, Greece Police Chief Merritt Rahn told media members near the scene that a man who lived on Baneberry Way heard noises outside his house and had confronted three males in the street whom the man believed were breaking into a neighbor’s vehicle or house.
Rahn said that the man told officers that during the confrontation, one of the three males charged at him, and he responded by firing a handgun in his possession twice, striking one of of the males.
ladkiddo lamented yesterday that we’re not doing more to curb people’s ability to do this kind of gun violence.
I understand that a well-armed populace is a great deterrent to things like martial law and coups. But what–and who– are we willing to sacrifice for that “security”?
More importantly, where can we draw sensible lines? And what are we doing to foster a culture where Dirty Harry vigilantism isn’t the first problem-solving technique that pops into people’s heads?

They are all bi-products of Rush Limbaugh’s diatribe. Can’t think for themselves, can’t really say “how” this is supposed to happen. Can’t get behind their own party leader for a reason they are willing to publicly state.
Lemmings. Honk the next time you see one. Keep honking at them. When they look at you - take your pointer finger and move it in circles, near your ear, and let them know that you are aware that they are crazy. Then make sure the medicine cabinet is locked at home and all pain killers are out of their reach.
It’s hard being them. Lemmings. A role someone had to assume.
There isn’t nearly enough information to support a claim of either vigilantism or self-defense, although I lean towards the latter.
It isn’t vigilantism to investigate to see if your neighbors’ property is being stolen or vandalized. It isn’t vigilantism to do so while armed for self-defense, or to defend when attacked, especially if there are 3 of them.
It would be vigilantism if the shooter had gone with the intent of shooting them, or if he shot when they tried to escape.
We’ll be discussing this issue of gun control on News Talk Online on Paltalk.com Monday April 6 at 5 PM New York time.

Guns don’t kill people, people kill people. A gun is nothing but a tool that can be used for good or for evil. Can you tell me how many lives were saved that day by people that deterred crimes just by showing a gun in self-defense?
This kind of outbreak is symptomatic of a poor economy and poor self-control. The person could have ran a car into a shopping mall, stabbed 30 people in a food court, or drowned their kids in a lake.
Also don’t forget how many innocent people get killed by those we select to ‘lord’ over us, our police officers, now known as law enforcement. There was a time when they were called peace officers, but no more. Murderers in uniform (whether it’s police or military) have always killed more people than private murderers, but their murders are sanctioned by the state.
Don’t get me wrong, these stories make me sad like anyone else, but they’re being hyped to further a specific agenda, that is, disarming the populace.
