Updated: Commuter Plane Crashes and Burns in Buffalo
Update - 4:00 - looks like they found the black box. Here is additional coverage via WBEN.com (h/t whtwtrdood) Members of Chuck Manigone’s band were on the flight, as was a 9-11 widow. There is the start of a list of victims. Like I said earlier - Tragic - there are 50 people, 50 equal and valued stories that will need to be told.
I’m just starting my day with this tragic news. Here is some coverage. Investigators are due at the site to start the investigation. No survivors, one person on the ground dead. The word “Tragic” seems to be a gross understatement.

CLARENCE, N.Y. — Emergency responders and officials in Erie County today described the plane crash that killed all 48 people aboard a commuter plane and one person on the ground as a “direct hit” on a house in suburban Buffalo.
“The fuselage of the plane is on the footprint of the house,” David Bissonette, emergency services coordinator for Clarence, Erie County, said at an early morning news conference. “It basically dove into the top of the house. It’s remarkable that it only took one house. As (catastrophic) as it was, it could’ve easily taken the whole neighborhood.”
Witnesses reportedly heard the twin turboprop aircraft sputtering before it went down in light snow and fog.

The best coverage you;ll find on this story is probably at wben.com. They’ve been on scene since it started. I was listening earlier today and Barbara Burns had an exclusive interview with the woman that lived in the house that was struck. Apparently the two of them are related. They also had a lengthy discussion with the Buffalo News Photographer that took most of the pics you see. He lives just down the street from the incident and got there before even most of the First Responders.
In looking at the Huffington Post site another advantage to WBEN is you won’t get any of this nonsense (it was the very first comment posted and there are probably many more throughout the list);

Unfortunately, every website is prone to having some insensitive comments and the like.
I’m sure there are others shooting down this ridiculous theory too.

Maybe so, but at Huff Po it’s been refined as an art form almost since it’s inception.
Gee I didn’t see that coming - Nicely done ‘dood using a comment to set up a slam at Huffington Post - h/t you you. Now stop it. WBEN doesn’t allow comments otherwise, you probably would see the same or something similar.
As Andrea suggested there are some insensive (or like the 9-11 truthers - hyperfocused) people out there. There was some BS in the D&C comments as well and apparently that comment was deleted.
It would be a shame to bash an entire blog because of a few commenters.
