Wednesday Wingnut Watch

Ready for some fun? Let’s see what the far-right wingnuts are breathlessly telling themselves this week.

OBAMA’S BIRTH CERTIFICATE continues to be a hot topic, and many in the wingnut brigade are certain that Obama is not a natural born American, and therefore not eligible to be president. They tried (with no luck) being heard by the (largely Republican) Surpeme Court, and you can bet they will continue beating this drum. Here’s a TV commercial they unsuccessfully tried to get on the air during innauguration week. It’s all baloney, of course.

SARAH PALIN is sour grapes all over the place. She blames Katie Kouric. She blames Tina Fey. She blames the elite leftie media. Take a look:

RIGHT WING HAND-WRINGING OVER THE INNAUGURATION. This post laments the anticipated protests against Pastor Rick Warren.  I’m old enough to remember Agnew-isms (nattering nabobs of negativity), so I personally got a chuckle from this verbiage:

Next week the liberals will troop to Washington en masse to celebrate the inauguration of President Barack Hussein Obama. But not satisfied with having won the election and expanded their power in the House and Senate, the loonier leftist extremists are committed to putting their peculiar brand of nitwittery on parade throughout the inaugural festivities.

JOE THE PLUMBER is a now a war correspondent, in Israel, for a conservative blog site. Apparently Joe’s 15 minutes of fame have been extended to 45 minutes.

The organization that Joe the Unlicensed Plumber is “working” for is Pajamas Media, an effort funded by a small group of right wing venture capitalists. Not long before the election, I stumbled across a hilarious post on Pajamas by another discredited “expert”, one very familiar to Rochesterians…former Congressman Fred Eckert. Fred was defeated by Louise Slaughter, after a series of memorable TV ads portraying him as Congressman No…riding a rubber stamp “no” across TV screens 20+ years ago. After his defeat, Fred was rewarded by his GOP friends with a posting as Ambassador to the Fiji Islands…not bad work if you can get it! Fred is apparantly now writing for Pajamas, but the article that caught my eye was one in which he opined that the media “smears” of Joe the Plumber might cost Barack Obama the election. I don’t know whether Fred was futilely trying to stir up the discouraged righty masses or if he actually drank Joe’s Kool Aid. In any event, his prognosticating was as effective as his brief term in Congress, though I don’t think he will be rewarded for his efforts with another posting to Fiji this time! Here’s the link. http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/how-joe-the-plumber-could-cost-obama-the-election/

The person that has pushed this birth certificate nonsense the hardest from the start and the one behind most of the court challenges pertaining to Obama’s Birth Certificate is Phillip Berg. He’s a former Deputy Attorney General of Pennsylvania, a Democrat and ardent Hillary Clinton supporter. He’s also a 9/11 troofer.
