Robach’s push poll
Ok. I got this in the mail the other day from State Senator Joe Robach - A questionnaire to the district on what he should be working on and how people feel about certain issues.

Actually, most was fine, but I took offense at this question:
New York should eliminate discretionary spending (grants that legislators recommend for projects in their communities) even if they fund initiatives like equipment for fire departments, technology for schools and services for the disabled.
Come on Joe - I mean Geez. Could you come up with other examples? Instead of public servants who protect us, schools and disabled kids. The list of member items from 2005/2006 shows no fire fighter grants from you (none, I readily see) but as you are cherry picking allow me,
25K to Rochester Landscape Technicians Program
100K to Catholic Family Center
75K Greater Rochester Enterprise
and there was that bit about the Law school. 2.5 million dollars for a study.
New York State can’t afford the same budgets that we have had before. This means that not all groups will get State funds unless you increase the funds available. But you know that - this is a way to attempt to protect the earmark system.
Anyway fill it out on line - and sent Joe your feedback.

Not only is it a push poll, but its not even an anonymous push poll…unless you take the time to black out your name on the mailing label, which is included when you fold it back up to return it by mail.
