RT Geek Corner - Upgrading “Nearly Sprung” to Support WP 2.7 Comments - UPDATED

For those continually aspiring to achieve nerd-vana, read on.  In getting RT 2.0 ready for y’all, I upgraded to WordPress 2.7.  But the theme I’m using for RT 2.0, called “Nearly Sprung” (it’s a widgetized, upgraded version of what we’re using now– “Almost Spring”) is not 2.7-compatible, so I’ve had to update it.

The key update I’ve made so far is to support 2.7’s enhanced commenting capability.  If you are using “Nearly Sprung”, and want to take advantage of 2.7’s commenting (which includes comment threading, gravatars, etc, right out of the box), extract this zip file and into your /themes/nearly-sprung/ folder and it’ll start working.

Also (to quote Sarah Palin), I set it up so the theme is still backwards-compatible with older versions of WordPress. Also.

Just one of the many services we offer here at RT tech support.  :-)

UPDATED: I realized one of the files was not the latest “nearly sprung” version, so I updated the zip file.
