NY-29: Massa Pushing For HealthCare Now
You gotta hand it to the guy, he’s not even in office yet, but he’s not wasting any time getting on the ball.
Four newly-elected Members of Congress will join with Health Care for America Now Friday to announce a new campaign push to make health care a top priority for the new Administration and Congress. The telephone press conference will take place this Friday, November 14th at 11am. Call in number: 800-895-0198 code: Health Care President-elect Obama and more than 150 members of the 111th Congress have signed on to HCAN's principles for reform, including all four of the newly-elected members on Friday's call. All four won in districts/races selected by Health Care for America Now for extensive voter education through TV and radio advertising, mail, and phone.
HCAN did some decent work supporting Massa this cycle. We covered HCAN’s ad here, and wrote about one of the speakers from the HCAN travelling conference here when they came through Rochester. It was powerful stuff.
One funny typo from today’s HCAN press release:
WHO: Richard Kirsch, HCAN National Campaign Manager
Member-elect Eric Massa (NY-29)
Member-elect Alan Grayson (FL-8)
Member-elect Debbie Halvorson (IL-11)
Member-elect Eric Massa (NY-29)
Member-elect Mark Schauer (MI-7)
Or IS IT a typo? Maybe Massa rocks so hard, he has to be listed twice.
Regardless, as the global economy is busy crapping the bed, it’s good to know that someone’s trying to repair the social safety net– we may all need it sooner than we think.
