NY-29: Some Salve for Those Pins and Needles

Just heard from the Massa campaign. Although they’re waiting for the absentee ballots to be counted, they expect them to break about the same way the counted votes did. It will be about 10 days before the result is official.

Looks like Kuhl is trying to suppress/challenge absentee voters!

See the Elimara Star Gazette story which has Kuhl’s court challenge blocking counting absentee ballots - http://www.stargazette.com/assets/pdf/BM121896115.PDF

I have met with Tom Ferrarese’s staff and ask them about the Kuhl court order.

Regular absentee ballots have already been counted and were in the unofficial totals for Monroe County that cam out Tuesday night.

Both Massa and Kuhl have obtained similar court orders. This will effect affidavit ballots, late absentee ballots, etc. which will be examined and then counted starting next Friday, November 14th. Normal official counting from the back of the machines starts tomorrow.

With the court orders lawyers will be able to observe (and challenge?) the verification of the registrations of the affidavit ballots, etc. Each one is individually researched by a Democrat and Republican, then given to the two Commissioners for their ruling and then opened for counting.

Monroe County has a great system but the count is bigger than simply Monroe County.

Regardless - Given Massa’s 4400 vote lead, Randy Kuhl needs to that 2/3 of the ballots not yet counted. The math here isn’t exactly but close. I don’t see it happening.
