BREAKING: Poll Shows Massa Up Over Kuhl

Holy. Freaking. Crap.  Up 47-42 %. From the D-Trip:

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee today released a Beneson Strategy Group poll showing that just 29 days before Election Day Congressman Kuhl is down in the polls to 24 year veteran of the United States Navy, Eric Massa.  A survey of 403 likely voters with a margin of error of 4.9 percent showed that Eric Massa leads Congressman Kuhl 47 to 42 percent with 13 percent still undecided.  With 84 percent of people saying our country is headed in the “wrong direction” voters see Eric Massa as the candidate who will change the direction of our country.

Kuhl’s camp will claim it’s a “partisan poll”, but that 84% “wrong track” number is pretty hard to fudge.

Now that they have that poll in hand, how about some of that ad buying cash stlo7 reminded us of earlier today?

It’s hard to imagine the DCCC won’t get involved with numbers like that coming from their own poll… Looking like a blue sweep in Rochester this year

[...] Last night, SurveyUSA released a several polls of close House races. Among them was a poll of the 29th congressional district in New York that shows Eric Massa leading incumbent Republican Randy Kuhl by 7% points, 51-44. This is only the second poll of this race that has been taken since 2006, the other one was released yesterday by the DCCC. Those polls tend to have a Democratic lean to them, but it showed Massa with an smaller lead of 47% to 42%. [...]

Go Eric! This is great news. I’ve had the great pleasure of meeting Eric Massa a couple times during this campaign season and each time I am more impressed than the last. For a guy from Corning, he has taken the Rochester area of his district very seriously (which is a good thing since he will be representing a sizable portion of the city and county). I can’t imagine a more energetic or passionate person represent Rochester and the southern tier in Washington.
