Another poll shows Massa leading, this time by 7%
Tonight, SurveyUSA released several polls of close House races. Among them was a poll of the 29th congressional district in New York that shows Eric Massa leading incumbent Republican Randy Kuhl by 7% points, 51-44. This is only the second poll of this race that has been taken since 2006, the other one was released earlier today by the DCCC. Those polls tend to have a Democratic lean to them, but it showed Massa with an even smaller lead of 47% to 42%.
The SurveyUSA poll has Obama leading McCain in the 29th by a statistically insignificant lead of 49 to 47. But the fact that it is even close is significant in itself. The 29th congressional district of New York was Bush’s best district in the state in 2004, winning it by 14% (56-42) over Kerry. So much for Kuhl’s complaining about the “partisan polling.”
