Nachbar’s fundraising numbers are up and Steve Minarik is back
News from 55th State Senate district via a Nachbar campaign press release (my bold):
Rochester , N.Y. – Campaign spending figures came out this week for area State Senate races. In the closely watched race between challenger David Nachbar and incumbent Jim Alesi (R, 55th), the Nachbar campaign reported doubling the dollar amount raised compared to the previous reporting period. Close analysis of the figures demonstrate Nachbar’s growing fundraising strength, and a faster moving campaign in terms of paid media advertising.
One striking difference in the campaigns is the source of the money raised so far by the candidates. The majority of Alesi’s funds come from Political Action Committees, corporations, and Republican Party organizations. The Monroe County Republican Committee, for example, contributetd over $100,000 to the incumbent’s campaign. Alesi’s TV advertising, coincidentally, is being produced by former County Republican party chair Steve Minarik’s advertising firm.
Well, look who’s back-Steve Minarik. Just can’t keep a good man down, now can you?
Nachbar’s funding comes almost entirely from individual donors and Alesi has the advantage of incumbency with 706k on hand as opposed to Nachbar’s 80k.
Looks like Nachbar’s doing ok with his newest ad which we discussed earlier in the week. Seems to be spending his money wisely.

Was Minarik ever REALLY gone? Like how Karl Rove stepped down but is advising McCain. Smoke & mirrors, from top of the ticket on down.
Did Alesi make sure to file Minarik’s donation as “in kind”???
The D&C is reporting that Minarik “donated” his time and services to Alesi…let’s hope they filed proper like!
