One more thing about the suspension of Dinolfo’s Aide
We wrote about the suspension of County Clerk Cheryl Dinolfo’s Assistant County Clerk in Charge of the license bureau, Mike Molinari’s 3 day suspension.
Check out Petrena on the D&C Editorial blog.
I’m sure many here and on other websites all across this country, people blog while at work, especially if they work with a computer all day. How tempting is that?
Or Rachel Barnhart over at Channel 13 ,while not defending Molinari’s actions, questions if Democrats are clean as well.
I may have missed coverage else where, but I haven’t found mention (as of 10:30 pm) on Channel 10, 8, City News. MPN, WXXI.
Just a reminder - as the D&C reported Molinari works on Dinolfo’s campaign. The point here, best I can see is, someone working on a campaign was using government resources for partisan purposes. Government resources are supposed to be non-partisan.
Partisan work via a computer that is owned by taxpayers is wrong.
The other thing is that social security numbers are still on the County Clerks web site. The GOP in the Monroe County Legislature doesn’t really care because they rejected a bill that would have(via News 8) banned Social Security numbers from appearing on the web site.

If Mike Molinari wants to post his musings about the Bills or the last episode of Lost (or whatever it is that floats his boat) on his lunch break, I couldn’t care less. I will even go so far as to say that he can post during work hours. Heck, we’re all human and we all need a break occasionally.
However, as a campaign staffer and Deputy Clerk to be posting politically charged, and even downright hateful remarks about his his boss’ opponent is beyond the pale. This is an abuse of position and flagrant waste of taxpayer money. Aren’t government employees supposed to work for ALL of us? I guess in this town, I am incorrect in that assumption.
And, as is pointed out in the post, no one else in the media seems to care. The Republicans have run this county into the ground and it’s gone on long enough.
Exactky - nice summary
He’s not the only stooge getting a County paycheck for blogging.
No wonder there are problems in the Clerk’s office that can’t be solved - my money says they’re all doing this. Imagine if all those bloggers were looking for social security numbers instead.
