In Case You Missed it…
Welcome to the “Please Sir, I want some more” edition of In Case You Missed It. Although, in an ironic “Oliver Twist”, - The line has become, “Here kid, take the rest because we can’t give this stuff away fast enough”. But Oliver is nowhere to be found - instead, we are giving it to Richie Rich. Enough to scare the Dickens out of you. Here we go…
Tax and piss away
Yeah, it’s your tax dollars. But it isn’t about paying the taxes is it? it is about what we get for the taxes we pay so others don’t have to.
So, when we discover that we subsidize a local company - Carestream who decides to cut it’s work force in half because it is not making enough profit. Well, we get upset. Great that government subsidizes local job outsourcing.
DFE catches Joe Robach praising government subsidy of job cuts - this time Gleason.
Meanwhile - The white Elephant known as RenSquare plods forward. There is debate on how much it will cost to actually run the place. Seems we are looking at $1.3 million dollars at least. Like I said, the more you spend, the more you spend and it does matter where the numbers come from, especially when the consultant proposing the numbers has a stake in the process.
The Greece School board pays for a report then doesn’t read it, which costs its tax payers more money.
David Gantt asks for an audit of how state money was spend by Monroe County - Seems to be the $6 million dollar question.
Meanwhile, AIG gets a bail out, Lehman brothers doesn’t.
Dollinger v Robach
Recognizing that Rick Dollinger is not a lock to win the 56th State Senate District, We ran the numbers, discussed an incident with a couple of canvassers for Rick and reminded people not to take anything for granted. Lawn signs got discussed in the comments as an indicator of the overall campaign. We are concerned.
Robach’s Law School Earmarks are on track so Day Care assistance to people earning $9 dollars per hour are not. That must be why Rick Dollinger showed up to support those seeking assistance and Joe Robach was nowhere to be found.
Add Day Care to this list and it is about priorities.
Meanwhile there was this correction to a confusing Mailer we posted.
Massa v Kuhl
While Eric Massa celebrated his Birthday, Randy Kuhl gave Eric this gift -introducing a “Bill to nowhere”. See, Randy held an on line poll on his blog, took the top vote getter and said he will craft it into legislation. Not just any legislation but a CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT. The county has financial problems and we are introducing a constitutional amendment.
Meanwhile, big finance buys Kuhl insurance and there is a quasi debate schedule. So far there are two scheduled “debates”.
John McCain
Let’s start with John McCain and his belief that the fundamentals of the Economy are strong. He is right because the redirecting tax dollars to cover other people’s risk, caused by lack of regulation and, well, common sense is, fundamentally, the GOP economic model. Meanwhile, Ladkiddo ruins, forever, a childrens’ story as she highlight’s John McCain’s very bad week.
Speaking of bad administrations - Imagine if Social security was privatized and imagine, as John McCain suggests, we run the Health Care industry like the financial industry. I’m not sure if that is even more scary than a VP Palin or President Palin.
Conservative philosphical nonsense.
Conservatism, as currently practiced by the GOP, is a failed philosophy as suggested by this LTE and really hasn’t done much. Btp writes that, in the end, we do have to speak with our neighbors even when we disagree. Because it is not about the examples others set - it is about the example we set.
Misc
Apparently Hillary Clinton read Ladkiddo’s post where she was and **poof** Hillary penned an op-ed.
Social Security numbers are still on the County Clerk’s Web Site.
Both btp and I got polled. Ultimatley polls lead to craziness (read mood swings) like this.
Ladkiddo did a round up of this week’s city - rich as always.
How did the beach clean up go?
Christopher Lee GOP candidate running to fill Tom Reynolds old seat was profiled. We tell you what it means. Meanwhile Jack Davis is gone.
Dan Maffei has a new postive Ad. A good ad on what he stands FOR. The DCCC takes out his opponent.
Local GOP money man is behind national anti-Obama push poll.
See you next week

So, since you and btp both got polled. Is RT now considered “Bi-polar”? You did say it leads to craziness and mood swings.
