My sources tell me that Jon Powers has been convinced not to actively run on the Working Families (WFP) line. I’m glad, pleased and happy. I believe running on the WFP line would have hurt Jon Powers down the road politically. That this was even a consideration is bothersome and myopic but apparently he has seen the light.

This means he will still appear on the line in November but will not actively campaign.

Personally, I’ll believe it when I see a public statement from Powers stating such and endorsing the Democratic winner, Alice Kryzan. Yes, I know and have said, it is a bitter dose of reality to swallow but needs to happen.

Jon needs to hunker down conduct a brutally thorough AAR and figure out how to move forward. Powers’ loss is not simply due to Jack Davis, there are other factors. The factors need to be addressed, objectively analyzed and addressed if Jon wants to move forward poltically.
