David Flaum’s Dubious Connections

Our intrepid intern (and self-described “Jew from Brighton”, which practically gives away his identity) Airbare8, wrote about Rochester Republican David M. Flaum speaking at the RNC last week. I did a little research, and found this cool site called Muckety.com, where you can see the relationship of those high-up “muckety-mucks” to boards, businesses and other entities. Here’s Flaum’s:

Note the box at the upper left, the “Libby Defense Fund”. Yup he’s an advisor to the fund that raised money to defend poor Scooter Libby, Dick Cheney’s former chief of staff, who helped obstruct the investigation into Bush/Cheney illegally outing CIA agent Valerie Plame. (PS: Bush commuted his sentence, so he got off without jail time.)

Yet another reason how Republicans in power are looking out for one thing: each other. And how local politics tie into national politics.
