Dollinger on the “State” of New York government

This is the start of a series of clips about our current state of affairs in Albany and Rick Dollinger’s  proposed changes.

Rick Dollinger is campaigning for  State senate in the 56ht District to institute the Brennan Commission reforms.  These are reforms that were issued in the Brennan Center report.

So at the forum on government reform last night, Rick Dollinger sets up his proposed changes and reform by outlining our current situation. What is our current situation?  How would you describe the current government in Albany?

Well, New York State government is dysfunctional.

Have a listen to his 3 minute clip.

He says New York has the highest tax rate, highest health care cost, and largest wealth gap (declining middle class).  He goes on to say that the if you open up the process you can improve the service the government is supposed to provide to everyone.

Subsequent clips will highlight exactly how dysfunctional our State government is and the changes Dollinger proposes.

I’ve posted them on You tube but work life is about to intercede so can’t completely process them into a post.  You can find clip 1 (Committee system), Clip 2 (member voting) and Clip 3 (reading of the bills).  I’ll cover more later.  View them in order.  they are short so easily viewable.

Look, in the end, if we keep electing the same people to Albany we will get the get the same result - Dysfunctional government.  That is why November looms large  for New York State Politics -

Flip the Senate and move towards functional government.  It really is that simple

Unfortunatly Dollinger was part of that Dysfunctional government, which is why we are glad he chose not to run again. The peopel that keep getting re-elected are democrats. Face it they control the governemnt except for a slim majority in the senate. So how will sending more democrats help?

If you are happy with the current result keep doing the same thing. Have fun.

You need to break the three men in a Room and the weakest link is in the State Senate.

Also Let’s not forget that until a couple of years ago we has a Republican Governor with Dysfunctional government. GOP Senate, Dem Assembly. Break one of those and things change.
