Robach earmarks - picking the money tree for daycare subsidies
Joe to the rescue - 490K for daycare subsides. I’m pleased he secured more money. Gee, I thought the State was all tapped out. Where did this money come from?
State cuts to local child care funding have been restored, in part, because Sen. Joe Robach was able to secure $490,000, officials announced today.

The state money, amounting to $400,000 for YMCA, will cover the remaining 10 months to keep programs operating another year.
Looks like the YMCA gets the money.Now before we get all excited let’s put this into perspective. here are 563 families or about 1200 kids that are losing subsidies. The YMCA is, now with the additional funds will handle 65 kids.
That are still a lot of families and kids left out in the cold.
The big question is How many day care subsidies could the cost of a state funded study to put a law school at a private college pay for?

Where did this money come from? Good question, stlo7. I’m with you, I thought the state was broke. And yet….here comes Joe!! Riding in with his $490,000!! And Joe gets to look like a great big hero…in an election year…what luck. What a great campaign piece for Joe.
Seriously, is there no accountability in Albany? I’m so glad that my tax dollars are being used to make Joe Robach look good. That’s really great!!
the majority senators get around 3-5 mill in member item money. so he could have found that hard to spend earlier in the year. or it could have come from the senate leader’s reserve/slush fund that he takes off the top of the member item money before distributing it to senators.
