It’s all about choice
Driving home from work today, I was listening, again to Ron Cooby. He was talking about, what else, Sarah Palin. He talked about her stance on abortion and how she arrived at her opinion. It makes no sense to me and I will tell you why.
Sarah’s youngest child was diagnosed, in utero, with Down syndrome. Because of the current laws in this country, Sarah had the option to terminate the pregnancy (also known as abort the fetus). She chose not to. That’s right, chose. She had the option. What a nice thing! Sarah chose what to do with her own body. Nobody told her what to do. I’m sure it was the right choice for her.
But, Sarah is anti-choice. Boggles the mind.

I think the Alaskan troopergate thing may be catching on. A lot of reporters are asking questions and there aren’t many answers. I don’t know if the McCain people will be able to settle this thing down with just a press release. At least I hope not, because it seems to me that they didn’t do much vetting, and I think today was only the second time that the two had talked to each other. It looks like the McCain campaign rushed her out to the public without much consideration.
we can only hope…
[although the ability of the Democrats to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory is lengendary...]
Yep, she had the choice and chose the baby…but she went back to work 3 days after birth…and now, with campaigning, will rarely be with the little one. She chose birth and then a form of “abandonment” instead of giving the “chosen” child a good and loving and nurturing start to a difficult life.
If she truly has ideals she would be home instead of looking for the glamor. The very public and busy life of a VP, which she admittedly knows nothing about, would further her separation from this child and her others. I know it is possible to be a mother and have a career…I did it myself, but in what I have already learned about Ms. Sarah, I don’t think that she can handle it…especially with a Downs Syndrome Child. But hey, maybe Her “celebrity” will bring more help to people with this lifelong condition. That would be the one good thing to come out of this.
I’m not ready to make that sort of criticism. From everything I’ve read, she’s a devoted mother to her children.
[...] In light of the RNC’s solid anti-choice, anti women campaign this week, it was good to see David get the nod from NARAL NY. I know that they’re out there everyday fighting for our rights. Thank you NARAL Pro-Choice NY and thank you Mr Nachbar for supporting a woman’s right to choose. [...]
