Long D&C piece on NY-29

The D&C has a lengthy piece about the race in NY-29. There isn’t much in it that is new to aficionados of the race, which many of our readers are, but it’s thorough and well-written.

Update: This part is good:

Kuhl said he supported taking away oil company subsidies last December.

In 2005, he voted in favor of the Energy Policy Act, which continued the subsidies.

“I don’t think the subsidies are that important,” Kuhl said.

Though he supports expanded drilling, Kuhl did not vote in favor of a bill that would have required oil companies to drill on land they already lease or lose their leases.

Kuhl said the leases bring in revenue and that he doesn’t remember the details of the bill but knows there were parts that were wrong with it.
