Massa’s father demands apology in Corning Leader letter
Eric Massa’s father — a retired Navy Captain — wrote into the Corning Leader to demand an apology to his wife of 57 years from Randy Kuhl over Kuhl’s comment that:
Unfortunately, there are people who didn’t have the luxury of having wonderful parents like I did who taught about parental respect.
I do think Kuhl’s crack about Massa’s parents was a little over the line. New York State politics may be rough and tumble, and the Marquis of Queensbury rules may not apply, but even in the Ultimate Fighting Championships, it’s probably not kosher to make cracks about your opponent’s mom. I would expect to hear some kind of apology or clarification from the Kuhl campaign fairly soon, since I don’t think this is the message they were really trying to send here.

This is going to a place that no campaign should visit. This is over the top. This unnecessary. This is too much.
There are some real issues to talk about…can the candidates please take note of that and focus on what is really important.
I second that. This pettiness leaves people wondering whether he’ll be able to discern the big stuff from the small stuff.
If Kuhl is going to make statements like that, he is just opening up a Pandora’s box aimed against him, like, “Didn’t his mother teach him enough not to mix shotguns with dinner parties? etc….”
