Jim Alesi takes a page from Randy’s playbook
Yesterday, in the mail, I received a “Special Bulletin” from Jim Alesi, “Senator Alesi Reports on Property Taxes”. This thinly veiled piece of campaign lit was sent to me using my tax money. I am outraged. The postage says:

New York Senate
It’s a big glossy thing, not cheap to mail or produce. Here is the text:
“…On July 18th I sent a letter to the senate Majority Leader urging him to reconvene the New York State Senate in a special legislative session to take up the crucial issue of property taxes, mandate relief and fostering a rock-solid commitment to education funding.
These three initiatives will guarantee that property tax payers will have a relif from the ever rising cost of property taxes…”
Yeah, that was important to get out to the constituents. When is the last time he sent us a rundown on his voting record? Isn’t he just doing his job? Do we need an announcement complete with pictures of Jim shaking hands with a woman with a playground backdrop?
I think not.

Woo-hoo!! Stop the presses.
Jim is now taking credit for sending a letter. He must be joking.
Actually, I read the whole piece myself. In a later paragraph he describes the senate’s special session. So in all fairness (!) he’s actually taking credit for instigating the special session by writing a letter.
CBS. Campaign Bull S___.
Again: woo-hoo!
