Department of overreaction

Randy Kuhl, as quoted in today’s Messenger-Post:

“My opponent (Massa) is saying, ‘save the oil for our children,’” Kuhl said. “There won’t be any children, there won’t be any United States if we don’t figure out our energy problems real quick.”

What? He really thinks we’re on the verge of extinction as a nation?

Rotten has more about the back-and-forth over energy.

Regardless of whether one favors drilling in ANWR or not, Kuhl’s pattern of absurd statements on the subject of energy does little for the Congressman’s credibility.

Wait a minute! I thought John R. Kuhl went to Brazil to study what could be done about our nation’s dependence on foreign oil. In fact, he spent taxpayer money to go on this trip.

Now, he is implying that he doesn’t know what to do about our energy problems? Hey, why don’t you give that taxpayer money back, Mr. John R. Kuhl? He obviously didn’t learn a darn thing on his trip to Brazil.

Pagie, there won’t be a Brazil, there won’t be taxpayer money if we don’t figure out our energy problems real quick. Don’t you get it?

If there’s no Brazil, who is going to win all those soccer matches? I don’t understand…

Seriously, we also should be asking why John R. Kuhl, and members of his political party, who were in power for 12 years in Congress, haven’t already solved this problem. Why do they continue to vote to oppose incentives for alternative energy? Why does their party’s presumptive nominee for President have nothing in his energy plan that involves clean renewable energy? What exactly have they done to reduce our dependence on foreign energy? (I know the answer to that last question, the answer is “NADA”)

Good catch. Now that I know it’s end times, I’m running to Home Depot today to get my shovel to dig my cave. I’ll stop by Gander Mountain and get a shotgun, and Wegmans to lay in a supply of canned food.

You better pray they figure out a way to can arugula, my elitist friend.

Not to worry, we’ll be living off the land, and arugula grows wild in Pittsford, as it does in all liberal suburbs.

Better get that gun early, in case Obama is elected President. If worse comes to worse I’ll give you one of my rifles and a couple of my shovels.

I appreciate the offer, but I’m planning on moving in with the Lonsberries. They’ve got plenty of guns and thousands of rounds of ammo.

Remember when Howard Dean told us that we should be governing for the next generation, not the next election cycle?

It would seem that Randy has this backwards. There will be no children if we don’t get this Global Warming thing fiqured out real soon. Figuring out Global warming will not include drilling in ANWR.

[...] shows us Randy playing to our fears because America will become extinct and Nancy Pelosi has shut down the congress. But what is really scary is, Boehner and Kuhl team up [...]
