John Parrinello-are you kidding us???

(Maybe the $9000 was part of his payoff for repeatedly inserting GOPer Bill Smith into the MCC presidential selection process? --btp)

The Democrat & Chronicle has reported in its Sunday edition that the Board of Trustees has paid for John Parrinello to go see the MCC Women’s Basketball Championship for several years.

Quoting the article, it says that “MCC footed much of the bill for Parrinello’s trips, for a total of more than $9,000.” It goes further to quote MCC Spokesperson Cynthia Cooper as saying that “Parrinello was a logical choice to represent the college, not because his son is the coach but because Parrinello is a loyal follower of the team” and that “He’s an avid fan of the team.”

Are you kidding me?

For a man who admits he charges “300 bucks an hour to represent people” he can certainly cover his own cost for a basketball game!

I wonder–could that $9000 have better gone to a needy student whose parents will have to put a 2nd mortgage on their home to send their child to college? Or maybe split it up into 2 $4500 grants to benefit 2 potential students?

Our good friend County Legislator Harry Bronson (D) was quoted as saying, “It’s a stretch to say that’s necessarily in the interest of the college instead of the interest of the individual,”

Where do we draw the line? The article states Parrinello hasn’t submitted his costs for this year. I encourage the MCC Board of Trustees—if it has any sense of dedication to the students, to cancel Parrinello’s free tickets and travel.

This is a disgusting example of the lack of the Republican legislators and Republican-controlled MCC Board of Trustees to control their own.

It’s ALL about the recycling and funneling of funds - has nothing to do with how much he can afford.

MCC gives him 9 grand to attend the game his son is the coach for. He in turn donates it back to the Republican party, or to Wahl media, owned by Minarik.

So now it’s time to look at his donation record. Money says it’s almost 9K…if not more because of the other “jobs” they give him.

No different than Cheryl Dinolfo. Look at her finance filing. She had little money in the bank - the GOP transfers in 90K and she turns around and pays that 90K back to Wahl media owned by Minarik.

So they are constantly taking money in the coffers of Brooks and Minarik, and putting it into the personal pockets of Brooks and Minarik, and the public is none the smarter.

It’s money laundering of the political sort. And even though Minarik is no longer the “head” of the GOP, you can bet that his services, and donation shifting all around the county to Republican candidates will continue.

It’s collected FROM the people and businesses in the community, logged in to make it legal, transferred out to various candidate accounts, and then paid back to the personal pockets of the same people who took it in the first place.

Even Tony Leonardo, king of the money launderers would be proud.

I’m sure Saggie knew nothing about this.

If she had, she would have protected us taxpayers and made John stop.

Maybe she’ll ask him to pay the county back for these tax funded sports junkets so she’ll have some spare cash for the child care she just cut.

She can have her husband drop the check off at the bank in his free county take home car…

The $9,000 could have paid for as many as five students for a full-time semester.

What a fraud. Shame on him.

And what about the conflict of interest in Parrinello sitting on the Board that oversees his son’s employer?

We of Gates have learned don’t brother with protests. We should elminate the county leg, and MCC board, and have the county executive run it all, it saves time and money. We did it in Gates the supervisor runs it all, it saves time. I will attend the games for $4000.
