What’s Goin’ On — RT News Roundup 8/3/08 - Updated

Interesting stuff. Check it:

  • The Urban Champ has a great roundup of recent city development news. I love how they summarize key points of each article so you don’t need a degree in urban planning to dig it.
  • NYCO compares Syracuse’s recycling rate to that of other cities. How does Monroe County compare? When are we going to be able to recycle more than just plastic 1&2?
  • Ontario Beach was 3rd in NY state, and 50th in the country, for closings, due to high bacterial count because of fertilizer runoff, according to the D&C. Estimates for fixing the problem run from $300,000 to $10 million, plus ongoing costs. If only there was an alternative, and someone was writing about it on a local progressive site…
  • Update: File under, “How cool is this?” RT is now available via iPhone. Local prog blogger sconset monkey sent this pic of what RT looks like on an iPhone:
