Terrific new poll tool

If you’re interested in following state polls for the presidential campaign, Pollster.com has an amazing new tool. There’s a map of the entire country and when you roll over a state, you get the polling averages for the state. Same thing for Senate races. Hopefully, we’ll see something like this (though I’m not sure what exactly would work) for House races as well.

Looks bleak for Republicans, but not as bleak as you would suspect after 8 years of George Bush.

Elmer,

What does your comment mean? Not as bleak as one would expect?

Lost White House, Expanded Majorities in the Senate and House, Current hand over fist fund raising advantage. Don’t get me wrong the Democrats can still screw it up but still…

I mean the DCCC just dropped $53 million dollars in something like 50 or so races. They still have funds to dispense.

McCain continues to be personally popular and I think that’s why he’s not doing as badly as one would think in the polls. The public doesn’t associate him yet with George Bush as much as they should.

In some ways, I can see why. Before 2003, McCain regularly broke with Bush and even considered switching parties. Since then, he’s voted with Bush on almost everything. The public (I believe) likes the pre 2003 McCain but probably won’t like the post-2003 McCain as much once they get to know him.

Right and agreed (good point) but =

Are polls currently showing if you are the GOP - a lost White House, expanding Dem Majorities in Congress. My only point was how much bleaker can it get.

Hence my question.

Rasmussen polled me the other night! Do I think the economy’s doing better or worse and related questions. That’s me you’re reading about there!
