Rochesterturning interviews Al Gore
Immediately after Speaker Pelosi’s and Al Gore’s Q&A concluded, the organizers announced that they would walk a rope line. We headed over to the line and secured a place. The line was long standing at the edge of the railing waiting to shake Speaker Pelosi’s and Vice President Al Gore’s hand. I had time to form the question in my head. People were jostling and gently pushing to try to make their ways to the front to shake these famous extremities. Yet, as the Vice President paused in front of me and extended his hand, I was able to ask:
“Vice President Gore, in your book, The Assault on Reason, you stated that children’s brains were developing differently, that their neurons fired differently, due to being raised using computers. Do you think that our present educational system will have to adjust in order to accomodate this change?”
His response:(paraphrased-no time to record): “Absolutely. Right now, we put them in front of a typewriter keypad and expect them to learn. We need to educate them using tools such as search engines,etc. Our traditional educational system will definitely have to change”
This is to the best of my recollection-Hell, I was talking to Al Gore!

[stlo7 here] I have to say, I watched as Al Gore answered Ladkiddo’s question. When he was speaking it was like they were the only two people in the room which probably held more than 1000 folks. Al devoted his full attention to Ladkiddo and, yes, this a picture of Al when he was speaking to Ladkiddo.
