Jack's continual claim that he won't be beholden to special interests is truly galling. The most powerful special interest of all is self interest, and Jack's actions throughout this cycle show that his own self interest is all he cares about. Why else run a primary that will drain the resources of the strongest candidate we've ever had, Jon Powers?

The only upside to the brazenly mercenary approach of the IP is that they don't seem willing to give Davis their line unless he wins the Democratic primary. That's why they've got a placeholder there now.
