Update from NY-29

Sometimes, with all of the great work that Rottenchester does covering NY-29, we fall a little behind in our coverage of what I feel is the area’s most exciting Congressional race. So, in short order, here’s a brief recap of what’s gone in the this race over the past week (via F29th):

  • Massa opened his new headquarters in Corning and unveiled his new energy plan.   Rotten summarizes ” The plan [pdf] includes a windfall profit tax on oil companies, with the proceeds going to fund American-made hybrid cars; renewable energy through switchgrass ethanol; raising CAFE standards; no drilling in ANWR, and states making the final decision on offshore oil drilling.”
  • In his weekly press conference, Massa excoriated Kuhl’s absurd claims that gas could be brought down to 2 dollars a gallon by allowing more drilling and burning of shale.
