Running Scared? Dinolfo’s Got TV Ads Up
Continuing in the proud Monroe County GOP tradition of splash over substance, Cheryl Dinolfo has TV ads up talking about (I assume) how unbelievably awesome a County Clerk she’s been. Maybe the best Clerk in the history of Monroe County, or indeed, even in all recorded history. I’ve heard there’s 2 different ads, anyone seen them that can comment?
The fact that she’s put ads up this early in the campaign says 2 things to me:
- Maggie’s got a lot of money to loan her pal Cheryl.
- They’re running scared given that the Dems have a more-than-credible candidate in Tom Hasman.
Let’s hope his grassroots efforts and voters’ disgust at the local GOP’s crony capitalism & politicization of everything will prevail. I’d hate to see yet another election bought through superior campaign finances.

First taste of those commercials gives me the impression that the County Clerk thinks people are idiots and only with her brain can you solve a silly passport expiration gets in the way of your vacation problem.
Certifiable and desperate indeedy!
I wonder if she can solve global warming with such steadfast power!
Did you notice that one of the three items listed along the bottom is “values”?
I don’t need “values” from a clerk - far from it. File the paperwork efficiently, and manage the office.
Oh - and provide a web interface that’s usable. ACS RecordsConnect should be in worst software hall of fame. It seems to be pretty much a one-off piece of code. Even if they’re still using an old system like an AS400 or something, there are MUCH better web interfaces available. Seriously, you could get better code from a first year RIT student.
Soooo… who’s “ACS”? Who owns the company and how much did they donate?
ACS probably stands for “Arnie’s Cousin Sam” because no reputable company will fess up to that creation!
A google search of ACS RecordsConnect produces nothing.
nada, zip, zilch, zero….
I’ve seen the ads…what’s the point of going on TV so early? She’s either desperate or lazy, or both.
At first I thought maybe these guys: http://www.acs-inc.com/pages_exp.aspx?id=422
But they’re a reputable company, and also don’t show Monroe as one of their counties.
This ACS is local - but not the right product type. http://www.acspg.com/
Here’s another ACS, this one does Document Management, but doesn’t list Monroe as a customer: http://www.acssoftware.com/html/customers.htm
Who knows.
Did anyone catch that her campaign signs all have the word “Values” on them?
Hmph…
I have come to the conclusion that the Republican party has confused the word “values” with “valuable” (as to we must control the county, so Dinolfo is valuable to us)…
TOM HASMAN FOR COUNTY CLERK (Yup, the Treasury Deparmtnet and Department of Homeland Security Guy!)
double u double u double u tom hasman dot com!
With this guy’s background, at least we know our informaton will be safe and secure and no more of those computer crashes that the “Nolfo” likes to blame on her staff! Sure Cheryl - I suppose next you’ll want to sell us a bridge full of illegal immigrant drivers!
Is it overly cynical of me to think that the real idea here is to boost DiNolfo’s name recognition for an eventual run for County Exec? The idea probably made more sense when there was some hope of Republicans in a higher office who could appoint Maggie to something bigger than County Exec, preferably something not subject to re-election. Not many of THOSE out there, these days, and no fondness for Minarik or his puppets, either.
It’ll be interesting to see just how much they’re spending on these ads - you can’t turn on the TV without seeing them at the moment, and that kind of saturation bombing ain’t cheap.
Brooks Blackmail Brings Bucks.
Keep your job? Pay.
Keep your contract? Pay.
Keep your COMIDA grant? Pay.
Keep your elected position? Pay.
That’s not saturation bombing your witnessing - it’s nuclear bombing - Republican style. Think of all the blood behind those commercials. Makes you see them through a different lens, eh?
Oh, believe me…I was already seeing plenty of red every time those ads came on.
