FAIR Plan Appeal: Denied!
So Maggie Brooks gets to waste more of our county taxes on litigation. Yay.
Monroe County’s first attempt at getting the state’s highest court to hear its case regarding a sales tax sharing plan failed today when the Appellate Division refused to grant the county leave.
The county will now directly ask the Court of Appeals to hear its case, which was brought by Monroe County school districts in response to the Fairness, Accountability, Innovation and Results Plan.
The school districts won the case at the Appellate Division in a unanimous decision, after the county won in state Supreme Court.
Between stealing money from the schools to plug her mismanaged budget gap, and working overtime to discriminate against couples in committed relationships, there’s a lot of work for county lawyers these days.

Now we have to see advertisements in the middle of an RT post? Mark me down as not pleased.
Sorry– baggage that came along with the excerpt from the D&C. It’s been removed.
It’s tough to avoid pasting in ads when you paste from the D&C, given that it’s mostly ads. Just be grateful we didn’t paste in any links to their anti-rap campaign.
It would be interesting to see how much these legal shenanigans cost tax payers.
Muchas gracias
I agree it would be nice to know how much this costs, so we can make it costly for Maggie come next election.
