Getting Better
It looks like it’s all over, not to count my chickens before they’re hatched, but the DNC has finally decided what to do about the delegates in Michigan and Florida. Here is NPR’s and theNYT’s report. And isn’t this a better day, now that we can all unite under the Democratic banner and rail against the forces of evil that lurk within the Republican party? From the NYT:
The committee voted to restore the entire Florida delegation but give each delegate only half a vote, a penalty for moving up its primary and a warning to other states that might consider doing the same in 2012. The vote was 27 in favor and 1 abstention. The committee first turned back a motion, by a vote of 15 to 12, to seat the full delegation and give each delegate full voting rights.
The committee reached essentially the same decision about Michigan, voting 19 to 8 to seat all the delegates while giving each delegate only half a vote. But the decision seemed even more tortuous than that over Florida because of the bizarre circumstances of the primary.
Of course, all are not happy. Some in the Hillary camp are actually despondent so I am including this picture of a woman cutting her nose off to spite her face. (from NPR):

I think only a small fraction of voters will vote for McCain if Hillary isn’t the nominee.
I think it’s mostly rhetorical vitriol and once spewed, the post emesis relief will allow these people to see things more clearly and set their anger where it belongs-with the Republicans.
(thinking of changing my screen name to cock-eyed optimist)
Meteor Blades puts his thoughts down very clearly on the issue of Dems voting for McCain. I happen to agree with him totally.
It’s time for Hillary to help her supporters GET BACK from the divisive rhetoric and HELP Democrats COME TOGETHER under one banner. To herself, she can think about another run in 2012 WHEN I’M SIXTY FOUR.
Good one!
I’m sure Hillary is thinking about 2012 and 2018 as well. After all, she’s not a girl who misses much (I’m really more of a White Album person).
I’d love to turn them on to Obama.
I love the White Album.
I read the news today, oh boy…
