Memorial Day Remembrance

I wanted to get this announcement up for those of you who will be in the area on Monday and would also like to refer you back to Sahar’s post of last year at this time:

MEMORIAL IN TIME OF WAR

A MEMORIAL DAY SERVICE OF REMEMBRANCE
FOR THE VICTIMS OF THE IRAQ WAR

AND REFLECTIONS FOR HEALING AND HOPE

MONDAY MAY 26, 2008 AT 9 AM

SISTER CITIES BRIDGE at GENESEE CROSSROADS PARK
(BEHIND THE CROWNE PLAZA HOTEL, DOWTOWN ROCHESTER)

This Memorial Day service is a remembrance of all who have died in the
Iraq war, Americans and Iraqis, as well as a remembrance of the
preciousness and beauty of all life. Our hope is that the memory of each
life is held in an embrace of dignity and compassion, and in that
remembrance there is comfort for the grieving and healing for all of
humanity so that peace may come.

The service is at 9 am on Monday May 26, Memorial Day. The
Memorial Day parade begins at 11 am, so it is possible to attend both
events for those who wish.

The service will be sign language interpreted
