The simple fact that every single letter written is prefaced by the statement "I'm a heterosexual male"..."I am a gay man..." says it all.

When we have to clarify our sexuality prior to making our point on legislation and lawmaking, so that for the record we can identify which "side" of the issue we're on, we have gone too far.

It's time to revisit the Danbury Letter and Thomas Jefferson. Back to basics and upholding of all rights for all citizens is what is required.

Everything old is new again.

I think the best comment anyone can make regarding this issue is the one made by the SCOTUS in Lawrence v Texas, and quoted by the California Supreme Court last week: “…times can blind us to certain truths and later generations can see that laws once thought necessary and proper in fact serve only to oppress.”

this is well written. the only problem i see is that this issue is not based in logic or reasoning. if that were the case everyone would have equal rights for everything. instead, the anti arguments are rooted in ignorance, fear, hatred, and religious intolerance. all things used by a powerful few to hold sway over the masses. our goal must be to drag people into the light kicking and screaming, if need be, not to try to convince them to join us in the light.
