Have the Terrorists won? NY National Guard pulled from Nuke Plants

Did anyone catch this in the news?

Governor Paterson is pulling N.Y. Guard Units from guarding Nuclear Power plants. The owners of the plants are now responsible for guarding their own plants like they were prior to 9-11. Why? Well, New York Can’t afford it given the state budget situation.

We have Oswego and Ginna near us.

Actually the budget situtation forced the State to take a hard look at guarding the plants and it seems there have been security improvements made since the troops were deployed. So the state can’t afford it and the troops now seem redundant.

Which brings me to my question about if the terrorists have “won”. No, they haven’t of course but this is bigger than the current state budget issues it is the national economy and that our national focus is bogged down in Iraq while the real war against terrorists playing out in Afganastan is under manned, and Osama is no where to be found.

Yeah - who is winning?

Between all the money spent guarding airports, nuclear power plants, main roads and thoroughfares, the drain was bound to be felt.

When Bush came to town to speak at one of his so-called “Town Meetings”, the taxpayers of Greece had to pick up the bill for him to speak at the school’s “Performing Arts Center”…the same school where the 2.5 million dollars in building aid is missing from.

Can’t blame Paterson for trimming the budget. Can blame the GOP for their failed policies and catastrophic waste of taxpayer dollars chasing the bogie man.

The GOP pooh-poohed the statements in Michael Moore’s film that quoted Bush as saying he didn’t know where Osama bin Laden was, and that he didn’t care, or think that much about him.

Little did we know how true that statement was. There was better security at the Bush daughters wedding.

Maybe she and her new hubby would consider a honeymoon at Ginna…we’ll get the security, she’ll see the end product of her father’s legacy.
