Tired of Monroe County Being Shortsighted and Homophobic?

Equal rights is a progressive value. From skin color, to gender, to sexual orientation, progressives keep pushing the circle of compassion outward to include everyone, regardless of race, color, creed…

If’n you’re up for celebrating the latest victories in moving Monroe County forward, check out the Pride Agenda Spring Dinner:

It’s not too late to get your tickets for the Empire State Pride Agenda’s Spring Dinner in Rochester. The Spring Dinner is on Saturday, May 17, 2008, at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center, featuring a cocktail reception, dinner, and a fantastic live auction. Our emcee is the fabulous actress and comedienne Caroline Rhea.

But that’s not all…they’ll also have:

At the event, we will honor Keith Powell with our 2008 Community Service Award in appreciation of his many years of work on behalf of the local and national LGBT community. Additionally, we will recognize Pat Martinez and Lisa Golden, who recently won a historic court case that confirmed New York State’s policy of recognizing same-sex marriages that are legally performed out of state.

We’ve written about Pat Martinez and Lisa Golden before– they’re the married couple Maggie Brooks is trying to deny rights to.  Keith Powell is actually a Kodak exec.
