Monroe County Republicans get marching orders
I’m sorry I just think that headline is funny. It was from the D&C on-line edition. the Print Edition says “Minarik sounds drumbeat over races”
Apparently there was local GOP convention where the party faithful heard about the important local races.
County Chairman Stephen Minarik warned that Democrats are spending resources and organizing in an attempt to oust state Sen. Joseph Robach, R-Greece.
“The Democrats are harnessing all of their power, all of their money,” Minarik said.
Robach responded
“The idea of them controlling every house, every policy, would be horrible,” Robach said.
Yeah Joe - we’re coming for you. The big bad Democratic storm clouds are forming and going to rain on your parade. boo freaking hoo.
No, Joe - it is like this - Your record will be allowed to speak for itself. In fact your conservative voting record and you being a critical enabler of a dysfunctional state government are the stuff that storm clounds are made of.
I wish the article spoke more of the all the GOP red meat that was spewed to the GOP minions. Business knows better than government, governments job is to help our business’ survive the perils of the free market. blah blah blah.
The article touched a little bit with quotes by The guys running for Congress provided some quotes by the GOP Congressional candidates.
“I have no problem telling people no new taxes and no new regulation,” said Lee, who lives in Clarence, Erie County, and is running in the 26th District being vacated by Rep. Tom Reynolds, R-Clarence.
“I am fiercely pro-business,” Sweetland [running for Walsh’s set] told the committee members gathered at the Clarion Riverside Hotel. “I also believe in individual rights.”
But local red meat quotes were strangely absent.

In 2004, someone asked me what I thought of Joe Robach, and to be honest, I didn’t have much of an opinion, even though I had met him several times at high school soccer games. My friend said she heard he gets things done, and I couldn’t advise her not to vote for Robach. Now, thanks to RT, I can say I know enough about Joe Robach and can tell people that voting for him is a huge mistake.
We should recirculate and post up his ultra conservative voting record, his record setting earmark pork spending, and add additional emphasis on how he didn’t do one single thing while in Albany to stop the abuses that were allowed to manisfest this state into severe debt.
It’s DOLLINGER ALL THE WAY! Keep the seat warm Joe-Joe - Ricky’s comin’ to take back what you never earned!
And to Mr. Minarik - you ain’t seen nothing yet. A literal ARMY of support will make certain that the 30 years of terror Joe Bruno and the Senate Repubicans have spewed on this state are DONE and OVER.
And when we get done cleaning house, we’ll help the local GOP members, who will no doubt turn on your just like the State level GOP did, and oust your sorry butt right out of leadership where it belongs.
And you can then suckle with Maggie in a corner somewhere and count the days until her term of terror is through as well.
Man - it’s great to be Democrat these days!
BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF LEADERSHIP AT THE LOCAL AND FEDERAL LEVEL I HAVE CHANGED MY REGISTRATION TO DEM. IT PAINS ME AS I GREW UP IN THE MIDWEST AND WAS A REPUBLICAN MOST OF MY LIFE. THE REPUBLICAN PARTY HAS BECOME A PARTY OF PANDERERS AND FOLLOWERS OF SPECIAL INTERESTS. I INTEND TO VOTE STRAIGHT DEM TO SHOW MY DISPLEASURE!
Hi Pat, and welcome! Clean Elections (publicly financed) is another great way of getting politicians to focus on the voters instead of moneyed special interests.
Please feel free to join the party. And thanks
Welcome Pat! I know of MANY that have changed their registrations to Democrat for the exact same reasons you speak of. I used to think that the war was the basis for discontent, and deservedly so, but you are right on about pandering to the special interests - especially in the Senate. I don’t know if you saw the “earmark” post that was up here. It’s pretty obvious what’s “important” to Robach, Alesi and Bruno - little league baseball and all that jazz. Families are struggling, paying taxes that the “3 little pigs” turn into pork to hand out to their special interest projects - all the while it’s the same distressed taxpayer that’s providing the bacon for the pork brothers.
The tide is turning thanks to good people like you. Thanks for your perspectives and for letting others fed up with their GOP registrations that they’re not alone in switching.
This is the year to send the pork brothers a strong message - it’s OUR money - it should be OUR community that benefits. DOH - like common sense amongst them is GONE.
