As longtime East Roch residents my wife and I got tired of Bonacchi's wordplay and political rhetoric. And frankly we cannot forgive him for switching parties as soon as he was elected. Obviously he will say anything to try to get elected. How can you believe a person that would use one party to get elected then switch? He said he had his finger on the pulse of ER but he had no clue and 'couldn't believe it' when he lost. I saw him in Wegmans 3 months after he lost and he was still whining and pleading his case to anyone that would listen. It was pathetic. And this isn't about revenge? Get real.

I agree and as a voter within the district I will keep in mind the only reason Bonacchi is running is to get payback for Koon's son ousting him as ER mayor. He admitted it. Thanks but no thanks, and I mean it!!!

[...] A few days ago, it was reported that Republican David Bonnachi would challenge Democrat David Koon in NYS Assembly District 135.ÂÂ Today Bonnachi made it official.ÂÂ Reader D has some eyewitness reporting from his press conference: minarik introduced him to a crowd of about 20 people or so. andy meloni, mark florack, mike flanigan, mrs. bonacchi, anthony daniele stood up with him. bonacchi said that albany needs someone to fight for the district and that he has the pulse of the people. taxes are too high (especially gas and property) and local leaders from the county exec on down know how to reign them in. he has thought about his life since losing in november and he wants to serve the people again. he said dave koon is part of the problem in albany and he looks forward to debating him. he was asked if this would look like revenge and he said that he is italian and they don’t believe in revenge, but, no, it is not about revenge it is about public service. he was asked why he chose the village hall for this announcement and he said it was the only place that let him.
bonacchi has been talkin junk about how dave koon won't work hard enough to win a 'tough' race since, oh, about the time he didn't work hard enough to win a race. however, even republicans in the non-e.r. parts of the district question the viability of the former mayor.
