Maggie, State of the County Speech - WOW, a Web site!
I just got back from some non-political activity otherwise known as real life and and caught the tail end of Maggie’s State of the County speech. Specifically, the part where Maggie announced that she is creating a Web Site so citizens will be able to suggest budget solutions. She is also going to have a series of Town Hall meetings to discuss Budget solutions.

What happened to the county’s crack budget team? This is what passes for Plan B.? You remember - the one where both Democrats and Republicans voted to have the County Executive start planning for the loss of the appeal of what we call the unFAIR plan.
My question is, what information is going to be available on these sites? Will Maggie actually make real data available, which citizens can actually analyze?
Remember the Town Hall meetings on the unFAIR plan? How do we ensure this simply does not become one big astro turfing opportunity?

I’ll have more later when I read the transcript.
