Changes in registration in Monroe County

The State BOE released new enrollment figures on March 1, 2008. Below is a table showing the changes by party from 2006-2008. In sum, Democratic enrollment in MC increased 3.9% from 2006-2008, while Republican enrollment fell 1.6% and Conservative enrollment fell .4%, while Working Families Party enrollment shot up 12% Indy enrollment gained 8.3% and blank enrollment rose 4.7%.

In terms of percentage gain/lost from 2006-2008, the WFP was far and away the largest gainer, while the Republican Party was the biggest loser with 1.6% (that’s over 2400 voters) lost for the period. (From the NYS Board of Elections home page.)

I remember in 2004 the advantage Republicans had was around 10,000 voters. A 23,000 vote spread 4 years later? The republicans must be shaking in their boots.
