Betting the Public has a short attention span - Maggie Brooks and RenSquare

Well, check this out out - there is an event 6 p.m. on Thursday at the Riverside Convention Center where new concepts will be unveiled.

But over at 13Wham- Rachel Barnhart has this to say about Maggie’s new design concepts for Ren Square (my bold)

Four concepts will be unveiled. Brooks today stressed the concepts are not designs, but rather ways of looking at how a bus station, performing arts center, and MCC campus can fit together on the site.

Didn’t Moshe Safdie get nearly $3 million to come up with that concept? The model to the right was his vision for how the pieces fit together.

Brooks told me today that Safdie’s concept is just too expensive. That’s not what she said in early February, when she said Safdie’s model will guide the design process, and that he came up with a vision for how the pieces would fit together.

So which is it Maggie? Thursday should be interesting to say the least.
